How did you hear about us?
We first met you guys at NAB in 2012. I can’t be sure, but I want to say it may have been your first year at NAB as well (it was ours too). We were blown away by the commitment to quality and craftsmanship that MYT displayed. At the time, we weren’t shopping for a dolly, but we remembered the brand and said when it was time, we’d invest in your products.
What do you shoot?
We do a mixture of feature length documentaries, corporate profile films and commercials. We love finding that balance, combining beautiful images with a strong story and solid marketing and communication messages.
What do you like most about MYT Works products?
So far, the thing we like the most is the smooth operation of the dolly in general. Compared to previous solutions – it just feels so nice. Our clients have commented on the quality as well which means more than you’d think. The unit looks professional and of high-quality. The colours are awesome too (note the Canadian spelling!). There was something we saw in how you do your business that made us feel like we were aligned. We’re also a small (but mighty) business and we understand the challenges that face entrepreneurs. Investments in equipment need to be made carefully and need to be useful to production both creatively but also from a profitability point of view.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
We’re excited about approaching our 10th year in business. It’s been an incredible ride so far and we feel like we’re just getting started. Our latest documentary, Rising Above, is a positive film that highlights the issues of bullying for students in high school. We’ve been growing an audience for this film grass-roots style and have been fortunate enough to have some incredible sponsors. Right now, the film can be seen in theaters across Canada but a goal of ours is to get this film into your fine country and beyond.
