When using the MYT Glide, we highly recommend that you apply lateral motion whilst holding both the camera and the handle bracket. This will allow for the best motion. You'll notice that movement is so smooth you can actually throw the glider into motion and let it stop by itself, a technique which with some practice, can generate beautiful moves. Our bearing design on the MYT's allows for a smooth stop, not unlike one found with a tripod fluid head, with none of the backlash or return "back and forth" effect found in many gliders.
Weight is welcome on the MYT Glide. Don't be afraid to add all the usual camera accessories, i.e, monitors, receivers, et. al. Additional weight actually creates even smoother movement on our dolly! However, we do recommend that you not overextend your MYT Glide, please refer to our recommendations as to what size dolly is right for your setup.
At a natural speed, the MYT Glide is an extremely quiet dolly system. If you are shooting with sound, noise levels fall far below levels that would negatively effect a take. If you find that your MYT Glide is becoming noisy, it is an indication that the bearings are dirty and need to be cleaned. We have instructions for this procedure on our site.
